From a very young age Mike Mooney was thrust into the spotlight, playing on American Bandstand with Pschadelic Furs in 1984 on US prime time television​

Into the 90s, Mike Mooney played a prominent role on guitar for Spirtualized and from there went to play in various other acts. Listening to him tell a story is a real adventure, full of twists, turns and infamous characters

In 2024, 9x9 Records were immensely excited to find out that

Mike had embarked, for the first time, on a project under his own name. Inspired by heavy, psych tinged rock, H.P Lovecraft and his own Lovecraftian experiences in the music domain

9x9 Records and Mike Mooney released the debut LP in this guise,

'The Ctulhu Mythos' in mid 2024. The record is a celebration and exploration of sci fi and fantasy through the scope of finely crafted rock songs​
