Nine x Nine is a Liverpool based record label formed in 2019 with a truly independent spirit. Inspired by DIY principles the label works across genres trying to bring out that which may have otherwise never seen the light of day. Whether that be supporting new and emerging artists or working with more well known names: bringing out new releases, reissuing out of print gems, or unearthing historic never before released recordings. With an artist led approach, Nine x Nine hope to successfully realise the creative ambitions of talented musicians, while also providing premium products for music lovers and enthusiasts to cherish in their collections.
Nine x Nine was set up as a sister label to 81 Renshaw. Set in the building that once housed Bill Harry’s iconic Merseybeat magazine, 81 Renshaw is a Liverpool city centre independent record store and venue.
The store deals in new and second hand records. Established in 2017 it has quickly cemented itself as an important part of the city’s music scene. Boasting everything from £3 bargain bin fodder to rare records and collectibles, the hottest new releases to classic essentials, there is something for everyone in its racks.
Behind the store is a 100 capacity venue. Famed for its intimate atmosphere and quality acoustics. Previous artists include: Razorlight, Willie Mason, Ethan Johns, Jane Sibbery, Vetiver, Emma Tricca, Vic Goddard, Freshard & Stanley Brinks, Once & Future Band, Kelley Stoltz, Haley Heyndrickx, Mike Peters, The Burning Hell, Eddie & The Hot Rods, amongst many, many more.
