All about 9 x 9 Records

9 x 9 is a Liverpool based record label with a truly independent spirit formed in 2019. Inspired by DIY principles, the label spans genres to release that which may have never seen the light of day. Whether that be supporting new and emerging artists or working with established names.

9 x 9  is best known for our work on new releases, the reissuing of print gems, or unearthing historic never before released recordings. With an artist led approach, 9 x 9's aim is to realise the creative ambitions of gifted musicians, while also providing premium products for music lovers and enthusiasts.

The 9 x 9 family has been growing to the point of burgeoning over the past 3 years. With the recent additions of Whelligan and Steve Roberts joining the likes of Bobhowla, Thom Morecroft and The High Rip to release albums on the label, along with releases from the esteemed Kelley Stoltz and The Burning Hell. With much more to come throughout 2022 and beyond, 9 x 9 is really starting to multiply.

9 x 9 was set up as a sister label to 81 Renshaw. Set in the building that once housed Bill Harry’s iconic Merseybeat magazine, 81 Renshaw is a Liverpool city centre independent record store. The store deals in new and second hand records.
